Vacancy for Research Professor

The Design of Steels

Applications are invited for the position of Research Professor. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or other related field, and a demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publication. Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in the thermodynamics and kinetics of solid-state transformations in metals and a knowledge of phase-field models would be an advantage. The goal will be to design novel steels and associated processes.

The nature of a Research Professorship varies according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate following the achievement of a Ph.D. degree. Appointment as an Assistant Professor has an approximate annual salary in the range USD 50,000-60,000, and at an Associate Professor level of USD 67,000-80,000. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance, but can be extended subject to performance.
